Former Vice Chairwoman and District 9 Councilwoman Jesica Mackey is now leading the 11-member council, replacing District 8 Councilman Overture Walker after a year at the helm.
Mackey talked quality of life in Richland County, child care, transportation, jobs and other topics heading into 2024.
The council chair directs the council’s regular meetings and helps moderate public discussion. Mackey will continue serving District 9, the northeast portion of the county that includes Pontiac.
